OK! So I finally posted about last year
and I was still planning on catching up on a few more blogs,
but now I just give up.
The reason being is that there is just way too many things going on right now!
Life is SO busy.
I am 3 months behind in Asher's baby book as well.
Honestly, I used to be so good about writing in there,
but I've really fallen off the wagon.
It was literally yesterday that Asher was 8 months old
then 9 months
now 10 months old.
I think I have been having so much fun with this age
(really from 7 or 8 months)
That time is just flying by!
Remember how those first few months just dragged on?
Man, that was one major adjustment.
OK, so what is going on now?
1. I dropped Drew off at the Surgery Center of Reno this morning
He is getting two surgeries knocked off at once.
One on his nose (previous trauma that has caused him breathing troubles all his life)
and he is also getting his tonsils out!
I am such a bad wife really, I just dropped him off
I wanted to stay with him and wish I would be there today,
but I'm at home letting Asher take a much needed nap
and I've been meeting/ calling contractors to paint our new house
and I've been running around gathering documents
and any other item for our lender to try and close by next week
which brings me to item number 2
We are buying a house!
It is so unreal how fast this all happened
I am such a cautious buyer even with little things like a shirt
We put an offer in on a house (short sale) in February
It really did not take us long to find a house we loved
Even though we looked at plenty of houses
the one we wanted was the second house we ever looked at.
Drew talked me in to looking at houses (I wanted to wait and save more)
only because he and our real estate agent told me
that the short sale process could take anywhere from 2-12months
Making a long story short
We are probably going to live in Reno forever
Buying a house is not too much more than renting these days
The bank accepted our offer
We did a structural and pest control inspection last Wednesday, the 28th
Our inspector is amazing! He spent so much time with me
since he is a friend from the dentist's office!
So far, I have loved every person we have worked with.
We met this Monday with our lender to sign loan docs
We are trying to close by April 13th
which is CRAZY fast
and it's been a scramble to make sure everything goes smoothly
For some reason there is always a jag with closing on short sales
Ours came in the form of exposed wood
that the appraiser stated needed to be addressed before we could close
(since we are going with a FHA loan)
So, guess what I have been doing the last few days
Spending every spare minute on the phone back and forth
with our agent
with the lender
with contractors collecting bids
We choose Mike Whitlock who not only gave me the most competitive bid,
but also told me he could have the painting done by this Monday
Amazing!
We were going to have to scrape, sand, prime, and paint anyway
the only thing is we were going to try to do a lot of the work ourselves,
but this way we get it done and out of the way.
I am excited about that!
Remember Drew? Oh yeah, I almost forgot he is at the surgery center
in the midst of all this madness
(Did I mention that I am packing up our apartment at the same time)
I am getting so stressed already.
My body revolts!
Ok, so poor Drew is getting NO attention from me
even though I desperately want to be in the surgery center with him now
On a happy note, his mom is coming to stay the weekend with us
and help nurse Drew so I can focus on Asher and the house
and packing and cleaning the two houses.
Pictures to come soon
P.S. Asher is 10 1/2 months old
He took his first steps on April 1, 2012!
Two days later he stood up by himself
(without pulling himself up on any furniture)
He is also getting his two front teeth right now
and still sleeping great
I am happy that teething isn't bothering as much this time around!
