I found myself very amused by Drew today. First of all today he got really frustrated that there weren't any Cadburry cream eggs left over from Easter. We didn't get any before Easter and it's Drew's favorite. While in the nearly demolished Candy aisle drew grumbled and groaned and then exclaimed, "I've been waiting all year for these." I had to tell Drew to calm down at least three times. I felt bad for him, but couldn't help to laugh at the same time at his reaction. That's not half as good as when we got home though. So, today Drew and I get home from work/school around 5: 30pm and Drew remembers that there is a Penguins vs. Islanders game on Versus today. Drew is so excited that he remembered and gets to watch his game. I grab something to eat and situate myself next to Drew on the couch. The first period is already over, but Drew is watching the hockey sportscasters reviewing the first period during the break. You know how they all sit around a table and argue about this and that. Then the sportscasters start up a discussion about which Russian is going to break the all time score record or something like that (don't ask me) and Drew is deeply engrossed. Then all of a sudden the sportscasters make a joke about how some guy is definitely not going to get the record and they all start chuckling. Drew starts chuckling right along with them and says, "No, [you're certainly right, chuck] he's not!" right to the T.V. And I'm sitting next to him and its like he's not even in the room with me, but right at the table with these guys talking about hockey! So I say something to him and he doesn't even hear me or register that I've said something, but after about a 10 second time lag he tears his head away from the T.V. and says, "What? Did you say something?" So I say something to the effect of "Are you even in the room?" and he says "Nope, not at all." It's interesting how you can't even address a guy while they're watching their favorite sports show cause they're is this whole different realm.

Last night Jinx, our hunter, caught another mouse. The night before I found Jinx with a dead mouse under the kitchen table. At first I thought it was one of those fake mousies that we buy for them to play with, but then I looked at the tail and I knew it was real. Last night Drew discovered Jinx in our room with a live mouse! The poor little thing was breathing a mile a minute and trying to make as little movement as to 'play dead'. We then got the camera and took a whole bunch of pictures, but Jinx didn't like us being so close to his prize at all. Most times Jinx just lets Sake walk all over him, he lets her have all the toys-- always the more submissive one. Not when it comes to his MOUSe though! Every time she even got close to him or the poor little mouse he would snatch the mouse up into his jaws and make this low growling sound as if to say, "MY MOUSE!" Needless to say we've never seen Jinx act like that. He had so much fun with his little mouse, throwing it up in the air and catching it, pouncing on it, and carrying it from this place to that place. After we took some pictures I felt so bad for the little thing, but I felt just as bad taking the mouse away from him. Jinx loves the hunt! Eventually though Drew took the mouse outside and let it scurry off. I hope its not just slowly dying out there.

Ever since the kitties we haven't seen any mousies or any spiders. They eat them.

First of all, I have to report that Allison, Drew's sister, ended up winning DanceSport! It was so amazing and we were all so excited to see her win out of all of those couples! In other news Drew received two letters yesterday, one from the University of Denver, and one from the University of Nevada, Reno. Turns out that both schools want him! DU even offered Drew a scholarship because they felt that he was "one of the select few" that they thought would make a positive impact. Cool... however because DU is a private school and costs somewhere around $30,000 to go there the scholarship really doesn't help or even make a dent in tuition. On the other hand we have been praying that Drew would get into UNR. When I got the mail the letter from UNR was really thin and I prepared for another rejection letter, but he got accepted! The only bad thing is that they told him he needs to attend a mandatory orientation meeting on April 3rd which is just a few weeks away. The orientation only lasts for one hour, but he has to fly out there AGAIN to go to it. I really think it is unfair because I am sure that an orientation meeting that only lasts one hour is hardly worth flying out to Nevada once again. Drew and I are so excited to go to UNR though because it really fits for us! UNR has an awesome Dietetic Internship program that I will be applying to in September! It's emphasis is in Nutrition Therapy. We are so excited that we can actually make real plans now! We are moving out of our current apartment on April 30th and we will take all of our things to Drew's parents house in Nevada. We'll stay there two weeks then fly out to Houston, TX for our internship with CNResource as child nutrition program auditors. After that ends sometime in July we will live with Drew's parents for awhile until we find some place to live in Reno or Sparks! I have already begun looking for some jobs in the area and I even found this great job listing for a Health Inspector. We are so happy because everything in our lives is finally falling into place and now we can start making solid plans for the future!

We've cleaned and scrubbed the entire house in preparation for Drew's mom to arrive today! We are excited and we really feel tons better in our own home. Oh the power of a clean home! This morning we got up bright and early to see Drew's sister, Allison, compete in DanceSport. Wow, it was a bundle to get in, but Allison made it worth it cause she made it through 6 rounds and will compete in the finals this evening. Of 260 couples that started the competion there are only 27 left. I think Allison could really make it to the final rounds. She's really good and has a great partner too! Surpriseling Drew and I have had a ton of fun watching all the rounds of dancers. Some people take it really serious. Watching the advanced students dance do the Pasodoble made me watch to watch the movie, Mask of Zorro! It's truly been a great activity for a Saturday, esp. one that we have completely off. The whole time Drew and I were critiqeing all the couples and tried to pick our favorites from each heat. It was quite funny. My judgements were swaying a little by how people dressed themselves. You would think that in a competition you would try to look your best or at least match! Ok... I'm being way too judgemental. On a side note, my last semester has been quite tame and I'll graduate in only 6 or 7 weeks. I've already begun to think of all things I wish I had done. Drew is STILL waiting back to hear from any graduate schools. Right now I am so frustrated with the University of Northern Colorado that I don't know if I even want to go there even if Drew gets accepted! It has really come down to that. It all depends on where else Drew gets accepted though and right now we are really praying for UNR!

In an effort to prove I am finally ready for a blog I am created my own blogspot. The only problem is that I feel that my life doesn't provide the type of interest for readers to keep reading. However, Drew and I will be moving soon and starting a new chapter in our lives and if successful with the blog it will yet become another effort to stay in touch with friends and family.
